Former Longtime Rent-A-Center Service Executive Joins Encompass

Bobby Pope to lead depot repair, reverse logistics for company

Lawrenceville, Ga., June 6

Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, a division of Parts Town and leading provider of replacement parts and supply chain services for a diverse range of product brands, today announced Bobby Pope has been appointed vice president of its Service Solutions business.

In this role, Pope will develop and execute strategic initiatives to help further expand Encompass’ on-site repair and reverse logistics group. Encompass is one of the only home parts suppliers in the U.S. that also maintains a service operation primarily for component-level circuit board repair exclusively for contracted manufacturers.

Pope has more than 30 years of experience managing repair operations. Just before joining Encompass full time, he consulted for the company’s Service Solutions operation to review various procedures. His objective was to help improve productivity and workflow efficiencies, which resulted in changes that enhanced overall performance and increased revenue across the group.

Prior to Encompass, Pope served as vice president of Product Service for Rent-A-Center’s former National Product Service division. During his tenure, Pope was responsible for 22 product service centers and 550 staff members across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The centers repaired electronics, appliances, computers, phones and furniture for 2,400 Rent-A-Center retail stores, averaging 850,000 repairs annually.

Service Solutions specializes in laptop repair for extended warranty service events and other channels. The team’s technicians service a host of small electronic goods from ice makers to keyless entry systems. Service Solutions also performs board repair on behalf of select contracted manufacturers to help meet demand for original replacement parts.

Encompass Opening New Facility in Greater Atlanta Area to Accommodate Record Business Growth  

Lawrenceville, Ga., February 3, 2020 – Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of replacement parts and supply chain services for a diverse range of product brands, today announced it is relocating its Service Operations group to help manage significant expansion within its repair parts business.

Encompass Service Operations, which comprises reverse logistics and depot repair functions, will move from Encompass’ headquarters and flagship warehouse and distribution center In the Greater Atlanta area to a new facility less than five miles away. The group mainly performs depot repairs on a variety of electronics on behalf of major retailers, manufacturers and extended warranty providers,  as well as manages several reverse logistics programs.

The new site – 3105 Sweetwater Road, Lawrenceville, Ga. – is expected to be open within the next 30 days and augments Encompass’ other distribution centers in Florida and Nevada.

“Encompass has been experiencing record transaction growth over the past three years driven largely by our diverse parts business, exclusive supply chain programs, and certain core customer segments that are unique to Encompass,” said Encompass President and CEO Robert Coolidge. “Moving the depot repair operation will free up space in our primary distribution facility needed to further increase our efficiency and productivity.”

Coolidge said the Service group will still have ready access to repair parts since the new location is only minutes away.

“This is an ideal solution to meet our space needs while still maintaining strong support to both Service and parts customers.”

Encompass Teams with Universal Administrators for Repair & Reverse Logistics Services

Under the agreement with Universal Administrators, a nationally-recognized innovator in the extended services industry, ESS will perform depot repair for LCD/LED television combo units – 37 inches and below – and laptops. ESS will also provide returns management and asset recovery services for a range of electronics products warranted by Universal Administrators, including MP3 players, digital cameras, fax machines and more.

referral program. PARTner Profits enables Universal Administrators to direct their consumer customers to Encompass Parts Distribution for replacement parts and accessories and share in the revenue.
