Encompass to Manage Repair Parts Distribution for Sound United

Deal includes parts for popular electronics brands Denon, Marantz, Boston Acoustic

Lawrenceville, Ga., August 22, 2019Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of replacement parts and supply chain services for a diverse range of product brands, today announced it has implemented a comprehensive parts supply chain management program to support Sound United and its full complement of consumer electronics brands.

Under an agreement with Sound United – an industry leader in home theater and personal audio products – Encompass manages its entire parts supply chain, including parts forecasting, purchasing, warehousing, distribution and call center service. Encompass also serves as a master supplier to Sound United’s authorized service providers, self-maintaining retailers and other designated affiliates.

The agreement comprises parts support for all Sound United brands: Denon®, Marantz®, Polk Audio, Classé, Definitive Technology, Polk BOOM, HE OS® and Boston Acoustics®. Encompass previously served as an authorized parts distributor for Sound United and currently maintains special ecommerce portals for Denon and Marantz to streamline parts access.

The program will be supported through Encompass’ Florida, Georgia and Nevada facilities to expedite delivery throughout the U.S.

Hurley said the program will be continually assessed through performance metrics co-developed with Sound United. Encompass will be measured on such indicators as same day shipments, fill rates, order accuracy, returns processing and more.

“Monitoring and reporting on KPIs [key performance indicators] is critical to instilling confidence in our clients that their programs are running smoothly, and customers are being well served,” said Hurley. “Encompass provides full visibility to our clients in real time so they know what’s happening at any stage.”

Encompass Acquires CE Division of Herman Electronics

Under the agreement with Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., Herman will assist in directing existing and prospective customers to ESCS division Encompass Parts Distribution for CE parts and accessories. Herman and Encompass are both long-standing CE parts distributors with decades of experience in the industry.

Herman is exiting the CE market to focus on its Broadcast and Professional Audio Visual materials distribution business. The two companies will work together to notify customers and manufacturers of the transition. Jeffrey Wolf, executive vice-president of Herman, said he is confident that Herman customers will benefit from Encompass’ expertise, expanded product offerings and comprehensive capabilities.

Robert Coolidge Named CEO

Encompass announced today that company President Robert Coolidge will assume the added role of Chief Executive Officer.

Coolidge was appointed President of Encompass in December, taking on the responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations of the entire company, including the Encompass Parts Distribution and Encompass Service Solutions divisions. With the addition of the CEO title, he replaces Robert (Bob) Gowens, who has moved to become an advisor to the Encompass Board of Directors.

In addition to operational and fiduciary responsibility for Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, Coolidge will remain President of the Encompass Parts Distribution division for which he has managed national sales, vendor relations and IT management and development.

Encompass, National Service Alliance and BNKe Solutions Partner

Encompass Parts Distribution, Inc. and National Service Alliance (NSA), both leading providers of aftermarket services that support the consumer electronics, major appliance and office product industry, and BNKe, a leading provider of supply chain back-office operations services, announced they have teamed to provide a one-stop, integrated solution to address the full scope of after sales activities.

Under an agreement executed by the three entities, Encompass, NSA and BNKe will jointly market their comprehensive services, including replacement parts distribution, consumer call center support, service dispatch, claims administration and reverse logistics.

NSA manages a network of more than 1,000 authorized service centers across the country and interconnects after sales supply chain partners with support and repair of products across various vertical markets. BNKe provides global business process outsourcing and aftermarket support services, including call center support and back office administration.
