Hitachi TV, 53FDX20B
Reason for Service: Weak or washed out color when OSD color adjusted.
Solution: Found and replaced shorted ZD-306.

LG TV, 50PS60UA
Reason for Service: Bottom half of picture is black.
Solution: Replacing lower buffer fixed set. 

Samsung UN60EH6000F
Reason for Service: Backlights come for just a second, then go back off.
Solution: Replacing power board fixed set. Saw some bad caps on power board.

Samsung TV, LN52B530P7FXZA
Reason for Service: Sound okay, but no picture.
Solution: Replace C1804, (box cap) on IP board. 684k/400V.

Sharp TV, LC60C8470U
Reason for Service: Error code, two long, two short.
Solution: Found bad 4 pin regulator Q7120 under heat sink. Replacing fixed set.

Sony TV, KDS60A2000
Reason for Service: Dead set, five blink code.
Solution: Replacing ballast fixed set.

Vizio TV, M471I-A2
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Found and replaced shorted diode in power supply. D950.

Vizio TV, E320-A0
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Found open SM 5A fuse on mother board, and one of three ceramic caps near fuse was shorted to ground. Removed cap.

Hitachi TV, 53FDX20B
Reason for Service: Weak or washed out color when OSD color adjusted.
Solution: Found and replaced shorted ZD-306.

LG TV, 50PS60UA
Reason for Service: Bottom half of picture is black.
Solution: Replacing lower buffer fixed set. 

Samsung UN60EH6000F
Reason for Service: Backlights come for just a second, then go back off.
Solution: Replacing power board fixed set. Saw some bad caps on power board.

Samsung TV, LN52B530P7FXZA
Reason for Service: Sound okay, but no picture.
Solution: Replace C1804, (box cap) on IP board. 684k/400V.

Sharp TV, LC60C8470U
Reason for Service: Error code, two long, two short.
Solution: Found bad 4 pin regulator Q7120 under heat sink. Replacing fixed set.

Sony TV, KDS60A2000
Reason for Service: Dead set, five blink code.
Solution: Replacing ballast fixed set.

Vizio TV, M471I-A2
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Found and replaced shorted diode in power supply. D950.

Vizio TV, E320-A0
Reason for Service: Dead set.

Reason for Service: Solarized picture.
Solution: Found lots of bad solder on Y & Z sus boards and in power supply. Check and resolder as necessary.

Samsung, LN32C540F2DXZA
Reason for Service: Won’t turn, no functions.
Solution: Discovered bad CM808 in power supply. 018uF/1KV

Samsung PN64D7000
Reason for Service: Splash screen continually cycles.
Solution: Replaced flash chip on main, IC1302. Verify by freeze spraying.

Samsung, UN55D6000DF
Reason for Service: Set won’t start, but has standby light.
Solution: Reflowing BGA on main fixed set. IC1001

Sony TV, RA6 chassis
Reason for Service: Relay clicks, 6 blink error.
Solution: Found shorted D5002 on G board. Replacing fixed set.

Toshiba, 40G300U1
Reason for Service: Power button turns logo on, but nothing else works.
Solution: Replaced 7A fuse on inverter board and Q303.

Toshiba TV, 55SV670U
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Replacing R850 on power board fixed set. 1.8ohm/5W

Zenith TV, Z50PV220
Reason for Service: Top half of picture missing.
Solution: Replacing lower Y-buffer fixed set.

Reason for Service: Solarized picture.
Solution: Found lots of bad solder on Y & Z sus boards and in power supply. Check and resolder as necessary.

Samsung, LN32C540F2DXZA
Reason for Service: Won’t turn, no functions.
Solution: Discovered bad CM808 in power supply. 018uF/1KV

Samsung PN64D7000

CE Tech Tips — November 2022

Samsung TV, HP-T5054
Reason for service: Panel doesn’t prime, but audio okay.
Solution: Replaced two FET’s on Y-board: Q5303 and Q5304. 

Samsung, LNT3232HX/XAA
Reason for Service: Backlights not working, but sound Ok.
Solution: Replaced 4 bad caps in power supply, CM851, CM852, CM856, CM858 and bad fuse F3 on inverter board.

Samsung TV, UN40JU6400
Reason for service: No video or audio and no backlight.
Solution: Found shorted cap off pin 8 of IC304. Just removed cap.

Samsung, UN46H6201AF
Reason for Service: Set has no video, but audio and backlight are okay.
Solution: Replaced  T-Con board.

Sony TV, RA6
Reason for service: Dead set, 6 blink error.
Solution: Found D5004 on G board shorted.

Toshiba TV, 32TL515U
Reason for Service: No audio.
Solution: Reflowing BGA on main restored audio. IC100

Vizio, E550VL
Reason for Service: Has amber logo, but won’t turn on.
Solution: Replacing IC U14 fixed set.

Vizio TV, E422VA
Reason for service: No video or audio.
Solution: Reflowing BGA on main fixed set. U401

CE Tech Tips — August 2022

**NOTICE**

Panasonic Combo, PVDM2791
Reason for Service: No vertical.
Solution: Replaced following: U451, LA7331, C401, 2.2uF/50V, C402, 470uF/16V, C408, 1uF/50V, and C409, 100uF/35V. 

Samsung TV, PN64D7000FF
Reason for Service: Dead set, no standby power light
Solution: Found bad solder on TS801S and TS802S in the power supply and resoldered.

Samsung TV, LN52A650A1F
Reason for Service: Set cycling.
Solution: Replaced C132 on main board with 47uF/16V electrolytic.

Vizio TV, E420VA
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Replaced small blue cap in power supply, C911, .01uF/1KV and F901, 5A fuse.

Vizio TV, D58U-D3
Reason for Service: Screen has bluish color.
Solution: Replaced all LED strips, which restored normal picture.

Vizio TV, SV422XVT
Reason for Service: Set won’t start.
Solution: When you plug in set, logo is amber and never turns white. Reflowing both BGAs under heatsinks on main board fixed problem.

Vizio TV, E370VLE
Reason for Service: Set won’t start. Logo changes from amber to white, but no B/L, no sound.
Solution: Found D120 on power board was shorted. Used MUR460.

Vizio TV, VO47L FHDTV10A
Reason for Service: No backlights, audio okay.
Solution: Replaced following: C241, 470uF/35V in power supply, C2 & C3 both 680uF/35V on master inverter board plus 10A fuse F1, and C102 & C103, both 680uF/35V on slave inverter board.

Reason for Service: No video or weak video. No voltage on ABL pin of the fly.
Solution: Replaced open RH28.


LG TV, 55GA6400
 Reason for Service: Set has no audio.
Solution: Reflowing BGA on main board fixed set. IC100.

LG TV, 47LW5600
Reason for Service: Picture has horizontal lines across whole screen.
Solution: Reflowing BGA on main fixed set. IC101.

LG TV, 50PA4500
Reason for Service: Power button or remote will not turn set on.
Solution: Found bad cap in power supply, C802; replacing fixed set. .022mF/1600V

Mitsubishi TV, WDY57
Reason for Service: Set shuts off.
Solution: Cleaned filters and replaced sensor behind lamp.

Samsung TV, LN32B360C5d
Reason for Service: Set turns on one time at plug in, then won’t turn on again unless it’s unplugged first.
Solution: Repairing bad tab on power supply board used for CCFL tubes fixed set.

Sony TV, KDL-40V4100
Reason for Service: No video.
Solution: No 12V to T-Con; replaced U21, (AS15F) on T-Con and replaced F1422/1421 on BU Board.

Vizio TV, M552i-B2
Reason for Service: Dead set, power light doesn’t appear at power on.
Solution: IC901, ZD909, 4.7Vzener, D950B.

Vizio TV, E420VA
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Replaced small blue cap in power supply, C911, .01uF/1KV and F901, 5A fuse.

Coby TV, TFTV3227

Reason for Service: Loses video intermittently
Solution: We found a ground wire that was supposed to be screwed to the metal frame, had no screw.
Replacing the screw fixed the set.

LG TV, 50PC5D
Reason for Service: The screen had many red horizontal lines across the top part of it.
Solution: Replacing the upper buffer restored a good picture.

LG TV, 32LC7D
Reason for Service: Left side of the screen it too dark.
Solution: Found two bad caps on the inverter board, C215 and C218, 270uF/10V.

Samsung TV, LN-S2641
Reason for Service: Set won’t start.
Solution: Replacing the main board fixed this set.

Samsung TV, LN26A450C1DXZA

Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Found and replaced bad regulator on main Board, IC1001. Check power supply for domed caps also.

Sharp TV, LC-52E77EU
Reason for Service: Set won’t start, power light blinking.
Solution: Replacing main board fixed the set.

Sony TV, KDL55W802A
Reason for Service: Set won’t start, 2 blink error.
Solution: Found and replaced 2 bad transistors in the power supply, Q6502 and Q6503. In addition, R6547 was bad, 0.1ohm/5W.

Reason for Service: Powers on with high pitched squeal
and blinking power light.
Solution: Found shorted diode in power supply. D633, 27V/1W. 

Insignia TV, NS-LCD47HD-09
Reason for Service: No video, backlights okay.
Solution: Replacing U507 on main board fixed set.
(was running very hot)

Panasonic TV, TH42PZ700U
Reason for Service: Dead, seven blink error.
Solution: On SC module look for row of SM FETs.
Check for shorts by lifting on leg of each. Q641-Q654

Samsung TV, UN55ES6100
Reason for Service: Set won’t connect to Internet.
Solution: Replacing the Wi-Fi module fixed set.

Samsung TV, LN55C750R2F
Reason for Service: Set intermittently had video, then went out all together.
Solution: Before replacing T-Con or main, sub crystal X11 from scrap set.  If no good, replace T-Con.

Samsung TV, PCL542R
Reason for Service: Dead set.
Solution: Replaced IC801, IC802 and IC806.

 Sharp TV, LC52D64U
Reason for Service: Dead set. F7000 blown.
Solution: Replaced Q7805, Q7808 and fuse to fix set.

 Sony TV, KV40XBR800
Reason for Service: Shuts down with 6 blink error.
Solution: Found and replaced bad cap C6556, 33uF/160V.

Reason for Service: Has audio and backlight, but no picture.
Solution: Replaced T-Con. 

LG TV, 32LX1D
Reason for Service: Dead set
Solution: Replacing C127 and C127 restored normal operation.

Panasonic Combo, PVDM2791
Reason for Service: No vertical
Solution: Replaced the following: U451, LA7331, C401, 2.2uF/50V, C402, 470uF/16V, C408, 1uF/50V, and C409, 100uF/35V.

Samsung plasma, HP-R4252
Reason for Service: Picture has red dotted horizontal lines
over 3/4 of the screen.
Solution: Replacing both lower and upper buffers fixed the set.

 

Sony TV, KDL55EX710
Reason for Service: Set shuts down a couple of hours after turning on. 7 blink error.
Solution: Ensure set has good ventilation; might have to replace BAL board.

Vizio TV, E370VLE
Reason for Service: Set won’t start. Logo changes from amber to white, but no B/L, no sound.
Solution: Found D120 on power board was shorted. Used MUR460.

 Vizio TV, M470NV
Reason for Service: Unit powers on, logo goes white then back to amber and set never starts.
Solution: Reflowing U9 on main board fixed the set. 

Westinghouse TV, DW37H1G1
Reason for Service: Set just keeps cycling the colors and will not turn off.
Solution: Unplug set, hold MENU button down while plugging set back in.
