Encompass Now a Private Entity

Encompass is now Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. focused on serving
manufacturers, national retailers and independent servicers through two
business divisions: Encompass Parts Distribution and Encompass Service Solutions. The long-standing leadership team that has guided the organization for decades remains intact.

team, fundamental business strategy and commitment to serving customers
throughout the industry remain stronger than ever,” said Robert Gowens, ESCS
President & CEO. “The only significant difference in the company going

Robert Coolidge, President of Encompass Parts Distribution, and Kim
Wagner, Executive Vice President of Encompass Parts Distribution, are both
longtime industry leaders and will remain part of the company’s senior
management team.

Former Best Buy Service Center Territory Manager Tapped to Lead Encompass Service Solutions Division

Patrick Joseph brings extensive experience in service operations to the company

In his new role, Joseph will be responsible for the overall operations of ESS, which specializes in
extending the value of consumer and high-tech products through board-level and whole-unit
repair, refurbishment and parts reclamation services. ESS additionally provides Level II and
Level III call center technical support, service contract administration and support and ecofriendly disposal of end-of-life products to third-party warranty companies, OEMs and national
retailers.
Prior to joining ESS, Joseph served as the Territory Service General Manager for Best Buy’s
Western Region, comprising Southern California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona.  In that
role he was responsible for all Service Center and In-Home Service operations.  He also led the
opening of the Seattle Service Center for Best Buy, as well as managed product sales and service
support for Best Buy retail stores in the Northwestern United States.  He has served as a leader in
various roles in Best Buy’s service operations since 2000.
Prior to managing Best Buy’s service operations, Patrick was the West Division Director of
Service for Rent-A-Center, providing product service support for 893 stores and 12 service
centers from Chicago to Hawaii.

Joseph replaces Thomas Sutlive, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Encompass Selected to be Distributor for Yamaha

Under the agreement with Yamaha Corporation of America, Encompass will distribute replacement parts for its full line of professional audio products. Encompass currently distributes parts for a range of Yamaha consumer electronics products, such as home theater and hi-fi stereo systems. Under the expanded agreement, Encompass will supply parts for Yamaha pro audio products, including keyboards, synthesizers, mixers and power amplifiers.

Encompass will support Yamaha from its distribution facilities in Lawrenceville, Ga., located just north of Atlanta, and Las Vegas.

Encompass Selected to Support Extended Warranty Program Launched by Universal Technical Services

Encompass has finalized an agreement with Universal Technical Services to provide product returns management and asset value recovery services in support of its extended warranty program offering.

Universal Technical Services (UTS) is a leading provider of extended warranties in the fitness industry and a wholly-owned subsidiary of ICON Health & Fitness, one of the largest developers, manufacturers and marketers of fitness equipment in the world.

Under the agreement, Encompass will manage the disposition of defective portable goods returned under UTS extended warranties offered through sporting goods stores across the country. Encompass will test returned items and recover value based on established business practices.

“The Encompass team is excited to be selected by Universal Technical Services to provide warranty return service for their customer base. We have the expertise, infrastructure and operational systems to deliver superior after sales service, and we look forward to supporting UTS in the sporting goods retail market,” said Thomas Sutlive, President and Chief Operating Officer of Encompass Service Solutions.

Encompass will receive and process returns out of its 150,000-square-foot distribution center and service facility in Lawrenceville, Ga., located just north of Atlanta. The company has developed a special web portal to effectively manage the returns authorization process for UTS’ extended warranty customers.

Nick Palmer, general manager of Universal Technical Services, said Encompass was the logical partner for this venture, which has the potential for explosive volume.

Encompass, National Service Alliance and BNKe Solutions Partner

Encompass Parts Distribution, Inc. and National Service Alliance (NSA), both leading providers of aftermarket services that support the consumer electronics, major appliance and office product industry, and BNKe, a leading provider of supply chain back-office operations services, announced they have teamed to provide a one-stop, integrated solution to address the full scope of after sales activities.

Under an agreement executed by the three entities, Encompass, NSA and BNKe will jointly market their comprehensive services, including replacement parts distribution, consumer call center support, service dispatch, claims administration and reverse logistics.

NSA manages a network of more than 1,000 authorized service centers across the country and interconnects after sales supply chain partners with support and repair of products across various vertical markets. BNKe provides global business process outsourcing and aftermarket support services, including call center support and back office administration.

“Through this strategic partnership, Encompass, NSA and BNKe will enable manufacturers, retailers and third-party administrators to minimize multiple vendor relationships and gain a single point-of-contact to manage the entire after sales process,” said Robert Coolidge, President of Encompass Parts Distribution. “Our combined solution will drive down service management and infrastructure costs and streamline efficiency.”

The entities plan to leverage their individual strengths and expertise, backed by full technology systems integration, to offer customers all-inclusive after sales support with complete accountability and reporting.

Encompass Appoints New CIO to Focus on Technology Innovation

Encompass is pleased to announce that long-time IT professional Perry Patterson has joined the company as its new Chief Information Officer.

Patterson has 30 years of experience in the IT field, most recently as Vice President of e-commerce for Alliance Entertainment, the country’s largest multimedia online distributor, where he supported such major retailers as Amazon, Best Buy and Target. He initiated the company’s e-commerce division, developing it into a $150 million business unit, and led teams that worked with national retail clients to design, build and support websites and integrate technology to manage the fulfillment of goods sold online.

Patterson earned a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University, graduating with honors, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, focusing on Information Systems Management, from California State University, Hayward.

Robert Gowens, Encompass President and CEO, said Patterson’s e-commerce background will particularly benefit the company’s Encompass Parts Distribution (EPD) division. EPD provides supply chain management solutions and distributes replacement parts exclusively through the online channel in support of the world’s leading consumer electronics, major appliance and imaging brands. Patterson will also be evaluating system capabilities of the Encompass Service Solutions division, which provides board-level repair and a host of reverse logistics services to retailers, manufacturers and warranty companies.
