Hitachi TV, 53FDX20B
Reason for Service: 
Cannot turn set on with power button on set.  Remote works ok.
Solution: Replaced defective
Q001
Insignia TV, ISLCDTV26
Reason for Service: Dead
Solution: Replacing 3 bad
caps fixed the set.  C940 & C939,
1000uF/35V and C929, 4.7uF/450V.
Mitsubishi TV, 
WS-65515
Reason for Service: 
LED does not stop blinking after plug-in.
Solution:  Check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 on the DM board.  1000uF/16V, 105°.  If any are bad, replace all of them with
#181P734030.  608uF/16V, 105°.
Mitsubishi TV, WS-65515
Reason for Service: 
LED blinks for about a minute after plug in,  but set won’t start.
Solution:  Check for 3.2V at connector RF pins 4 and 5 on the signal
board.  If low, suspect problems with
switches/buttons on the control board, #934D764001.
Panasonic TV, PT47WXC43G
Reason for Service: 
Repeat HOT failure
Solution:  Check and replace C509 at collector.
Panasonic Plasma, TC-P42X1
Reason for Service: Horizontal bars in the picture.
Solution: Before condemning
it for a bad panel, reseat the cables to the buffers.  If this doesn’t fix it, it is probably a bad
panel.
Philips TV, 50PFP5332D/37
Reason for Service: Dead, relay clicks.
Solution: Check and replace
as necessary, DC8524, DC8407, DC8404, DC8405, all 680uF/50V on the power board.  Also check C5300 on the Y-main.  1000uF/25V
RCA TV, ATC010
Reason for Service: 
Has a picture for 4 or 5 seconds, but discolored,
then shuts down.
Solution: Check and replace
as necessary, R519, R529, R539.  All 1kΩ,
half W flameproof.
Zenith TV, Z50PJ240-UB
Reason for Service: Dead
Solution:  From a LG bulletin:
No power issue with the LITE ON PSU PCB, that was produced after Nov.
2011.  Caused by weak resistance in the
LITE ON PSU PCB, R929 & R927 should be upgraded.  Models 50PJ and 50PK.   Serial numbers, After 011xxxxxxxx (Nov
2010.)

Reason for Service: 
Dead
Solution:  Replaced 4 Zeners on Y-Mail LJ41-03078A.  ZD5018, 5019, 5021, 5022.  All part # 755-UDZSTE-1733B.
Hitachi TV, 51UWX20B
Reason for Service: 
Focus is out on left and right side only. 
Solution:  Add 2 spark gaps, #CJ00072R.  One between pin 4 & 5 and one between pin
8 & 5 of TF01.
Panasonic TV, PT47WXC43G, 
P8
Reason for Service: 
The picture is over scanned.
Solution: Replace C509.
Prima TV,  LC-40K17
Reason for Service: 
Took many tries to turn the set on, then it was
dead.
Solution:  Found and replaced 8 surface mount caps on both inverter
boards. 47uF/16V.
RCA TV, ATC010
Reason for Service: 
Has a picture for 4 or 5 seconds, but discolored,
then shuts down.
Solution: Check and replace
as necessary, R519, R529, R539.  All  1kΩ, half W flameproof.
RCA TV, ITC008
Reason for Service: Picture too wide & “breathing.”
Solution: Check all:  Il101, (263569) on Pin board, Tl101 on pin
module and Dl021 damper diode.
Sony TV, DA4
Reason for Service: 
Dead, 6 blink error
Solution: Found a bad cap,
off the bridge D6523. C6597, 2200uF/25V.
Toshiba TV, 
42LX196
Reason for Service: 
Works intermittently, red light blinks.
Solution:  Replaced Q820 per bulletin, #23135094
Toshiba TV, 50H81
Reason for Service: 
When set first turned on, picture okay, but then
immediately starts jumping and shrinking vertical and has vertical lines through
it.  Touching the DPC Bd. stopped
it.  Tapping the Bd. made it worse or
shut it down. 
Solution: Intermittent
connections on pins for this Bd., twist them slightly and reseat.
Vizio TV, M3D460SR
Reason for Service: The picture is noisy, and will fade to white when it
warms up.
Solution: Before changing
the T-Con, check for a bad U205, 1.2V regulator.
Vizio TV, V047LFDHTV10A
Reason for Service: Backlight works, but no picture. No on-screen, can’t shut
off.  Uses main 3647-0072-150, fuses okay. 
Solution:  After trying several things, replacing the T-con did fix
the set.

Reason for Service: 
Dead
Solution: Replaced C506,
12uF/100V Non-Polarized cap.
Hitachi TV, 46UX12B
Reason for Service: No customer convergence adjustment from the on-screen
display
Solution:  Replaced IC-1501 and ZD-1501.
Reason for Service: No sound
Solution:  All the following had to be replaced: IC402, D409 and
410,  D413 and 414 and F-936 was open.
Panasonic TV, PT47WXC43G
Reason for Service: 
No G2, (grid v ) on the red CRT
Solution: Replacing C312
fixed the set.
Philips TV, 50PFP5332D/37
Reason for Service: Dead, power lights blinks 6 times
Solution:  Replacing C601 and C609 fixed the set.
Samsung Plasma TV, PN58B540
Reason for Service: 
Turns off intermittently, cycles
Solution: Use the melody to
guide your troubleshooting.
Does melody play when set turns off?
       No – means power loss,
replace power supply.
       Yes – means the set thinks
it shut off normally.  Look at 1 of 2
parts.
If the TV plays a melody, that means it could either be the main board or
the function/IR board. When you hear the relay turn on, quickly remove the AC
cord from the wall.  Now disconnect the
function/IR connector from the mail board and replug the AC back into the wall.
Does the set stay on ?
No –  Main board bad
Yes – Function/IR board
bad
Sanyo TV,  DS31590
Reason for Service: 
Dead, maybe a surge
Solution:  Replacing the following repaired the set: fuse and
rectifiers, 5V regulator IC681, and Q681.
Toshiba TV, 42HP66
Reason for Service: 
Red sparkles in the picture
Solution: Found a bad cap on
the Y-SUS. C49, 33uF/25V.
Vizio TV, M3D460SR
Reason for Service: The picture is noisy, and will fade to white when it
warms up.
Solution: Before changing
the T-Con, check for a bad U205, 1.2V regulator.

Solution: Replaced C506,
12uF/100V Non-Polarized cap.
Hitachi TV, 46UX12B
Reason for Service: Loss of color
Solution:  Found leaky ZD-5514.
Panasonic TV, TH42PX60U
Reason for Service: 
Dead, 10 blink error code
Solution: Replaced PA board,
#TXNPA1BJTUE. 
Samsung Plasma TV, PN58B540
Reason for Service: 
Turns off intermittently, cycles
Solution: Use the melody to
guide your troubleshooting.
Does melody play when set turns off ?
No – means power loss, replace power
               supply.
Yes – means the set thinks it shut off
                 normally.  Look at 1 of 2 parts.
If the TV plays a melody, that means it could either be the mainboard or
the function/IR board. When you hear the relay turn on, quickly remove the AC
cord from the wall.  Now disconnect the
function/IR connector from the main board and replug the AC back into the
wall.  Does the set stay on ?
No –  main board bad.
Yes – function/IR board bad.

Reason for Service: Dead, (after a surge)
Solution: Had to replace all
of the following: Q601, 604 & 605, C609 & C626, IC601 and Q695
Sony TV, KF-xxWE610
Reason for Service: Shutdown with 6 blinks
Solution: Replaced MCZ3001DB
on G1 board.
Toshiba TV, 42HP66
Reason for Service: 
Red sparkles in the picture
Solution: Found a bad cap on
the Y-SUS – C49, 33uF/25V.
Zenith TV, Z50PJ240-UB
Reason for Service: Dead

Solution:  From a LG bulletin: No power issue with the LITE ON PSU
PCB, that was produced after Nov. 2011. 
Caused by weak resistance in the LITE ON PSU PCB, R929 & R927 should
be upgraded.  Models 50PJ and 50PK.  Serial numbers, After 011xxxxxxxx (Nov 2010.)
Use part # EBC60660801.

Reason for Service: No video, audio red LED flashing
Solution: Reseat sub
Deflection  PCB
Ilo TV, LCT32HA36
Reason for Service: Backlight flashes then set goes dead
Solution: Found 3 bad caps
in the power supply, all 1000uF/35V. 
Replaced.
JVC TV, AV36850
Reason for Service: Dead
Solution:  Replaced C926, 1000uF/16V
Philips TV, 
50PFP5332D/37
Reason for Service: 
Dead
Solution:  Replaced 3 caps, C601 and 609, both 470uF/25V and C036,
100uF/50V
RCA TV, ITC222
Reason for Service: No high voltage, power supply chirps 3 times and shuts
down
Solution: Replace flyback.
If drawing number on fly is 107 56 Xxx, use 259296.  If not, use 265409.  Also replaced TI-010, 2SC5588, #259899 and
DI-012,  BYW34V, #244834.
Samsung TV, HP-S7178WX/XAC
Reason for Service: 
Set powers up then shuts down with all 3 LEDs
blinking
Solution: Found a bad cap on
the ballast, 47uF/450V.  Replaced the
ballast.
Sanyo LCD TV, DP26648
Reason for Service: Dead, fuse Ok.
Solution: Replaced Q601 and
Q602. Part # FQPF16N25C
Sony TV, KF-xxWE610
Reason for service: Shutdown with 6 blinks.
Solution: Replaced MCZ3001DB
on G1 board.
Sony TV, LA3
Reason for Service: 
Dead set with 6 blinks.
Solution:  Replaced IC1607 on the G board, check thermal fuse on
optical block also. Brightness  is
changing every second or so.
Solution: Check power supply
for bad caps.  1000uF/16V.
Toshiba TV, 
42LX196
Reason for Service: 
Dead set, blinks 3 times.
Solution: Problem not the
Seine board, but the power regulator IC Q820 on the power supply board was bad.

Reason for Service: 
No sound from read speakers.
Solution: IC-4614
defective.  Check PCB for 4 unknown
diodes not listed in manual.  Replace the
4 leaky diodes.
Hitachi TV, 
65XWX20B
Reason for Service: 
No video, audio or OSD.  Turning up screens, you will see some.
Solution:  Check video mute AC protect and H BLK, found Q445
shorted.  Replaced.
Magnavox TV, 
27MS4504AC
Reason for Service: 
Set shuts down.
Solution: Screen control
very touchy, try adjusting that. Check for bad solder on the vert IC, and make
sure it has it’s B+
Mitsubishi DLP TV, WD-62327
Reason for Service: 
Dead, Red light error 34.
Solution:  Check for 5V at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the engine
driver board.  If missing, replace the
power board #930B921001.
Panasonic TV, TH42PX60U
Reason for Service: 
Dead, 10 blink error code.
Solution: Replace PA board,

RCA TV, MM101CC
Reason for Service: 
No audio coming out of speakers, but had audio on
fixed level.  Audio going into U11702,
but not coming out.
Solution:  Replacing U11702 and Q11701 fixed the set.
Samsung TV, HLR5678WX/XAA
Reason for Service: 
Video seems to shake or flicker. After several
minutes, picture gets too bright.
Solution:  Check for bulged caps on the power board.  Replace as necessary.
Samsung TV, LNT4661FX/Xaa
Reason for Service: The video and OCD is too dark.
Solution: Replacing the
T-Con fixed the set.
Sanyo TV, CLT2054
Reason for Service: Brightness is changing every second or so.
Solution: Check power supply
for bad caps.  1000uF/16V.
Toshiba TV, 37AV502U
Reason for Service: Dead
Solution:  Found two 150V zeners in the power supply bad.

Reason for Service: No audio
Solution: Found open LA01 on
the signal board. Replacing fixed the set.
Mitsubishi TV, WS-65515
Reason for Service: Dead, LED does not blink at plug in
Solution:  Check for 3.3V at the connector RF pin 3.  If low or missing, suspect the reset switch
S7L40 on the control board.  Part

Philips TV, 
42PFL5432D/37
Reason for Service: 
Power Supply still dead after replacing several bad
caps.  It chirps now.
Solution: Replace ZD904 and
902, part number P6KE120A.
RCA TV, ITC222
Reason for Service: No high voltage, power supply chirps 3 times and shuts
down
Solution: Replace the fly.
If drawing number on fly is 107 56 Xxx, use 259296.  If not, use 265409.  Also replaced TI-010, 2SC5588, #259899 and
DI-012,  BYW34V, #244834.

Sony TV, KF50XBR800
Reason for Service: Set cycles on and off a few times before it will stay on
Solution: Replacing the bulb
fixed the set.
Toshiba TV, 42LX196
Reason for Service: Dead with 3 blinking lights

Solution: Replace all 3
regulators in power supply even if only one checks bad. Q820, SRX2039,  Q860, STRZ4479 and Q880, STRW6765.

Solution:  Do a hard reset and re-adjust horizontal position and sub
bright in service mode.
Panasonic TV, PT47WXC43G,

Reason for Service: 
Picture is over scanned
Solution: Replaced C509.
Philips plasma, 50PF7220A/37
Reason for Service: Won’t start, 6 long blinks and 3 short ones
Solution: Replaced caps 8059
and 8060 in the power supply.  3300uF
RCA TV, MM101CC
Reason for Service: 
No audio coming out of speakers, but had audio on
fixed level.  Audio going into U11702,
but not coming out.
Solution:  Replacing U11702 and Q11701 fixed the set.
Sanyo LCD TV, DP26648
Reason for Service: Dead, fuse okay
Solution: Replaced Q601 and
Q602.   Part # FQPF16N25C
Sanyo TV, DS31590
Reason for Service: 
Dead, no picture or sound
Solution: Replaced IC301
comb filter (TC90A44P) and D311, D312.
Samsung TV LNS4041DX/XAA
Reason for Service: Won’t start, but cycles
Solution:  Check power supply for bad caps and bad solder on Q801,
Q802.
Samsung Plasma TV, HP-S7178WX/XAC
Reason for Service: Set would power up then shut down in a few seconds
Solution:  Replaced bad 47uF/450V cap on the ballast. 
Sony TV, LA3
Reason for Service: 
Dead set with 6 blinks
Solution:  Replaced IC1607 on the G board; also, check thermal fuse
on optical block.
Westinghouse TV, LTV32W1
Reason for Service: Shuts down within a few minutes of turning on

Solution: Look for bad
solder on C310 off pin 2 of the large transformer in the center of the power
supply board.  (T1)

Reason for Service: No picture, no OSD, sound is normal and lamp is on.  Some random color dots can be seen.
Solution: 1.8V from power
supply on  connector PPS2 was
missing.  Replacing the power supply
fixed the set.
Hitachi TV, 
53SDX01B
Reason for Service: 
No audio from ext. input 2
Solution:  Do a hard reset and re-adjust horizontal position and sub
brite in service mode.
Mitsubishi DLP TV, WD-62327
Reason for Service: 
Dead, red light error 34
Solution:  Check for 5V at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the engine
driver board.  If missing, replace the
power board #930B921001.
Philips TV, 
42PFL5432D/37
Reason for Service: 
Power supply still dead after replacing several bad
caps.  It chirps now.
Solution: Replace ZD904 and
902, part number P6KE120A.
RCA TV, MM101
Reason for Service: 
Audio from the left channel was buzzing
Solution: Found a shorted
cap between pins 4 and 6 of the output.

Samsung TV LNS4041DX/XAA
Reason for Service: Won’t start, but cycles
Solution:  Check power supply for bad caps and bad solder on Q801,
Q802.
Samsung LNT4069FX/XAA
Reason for Service: 
Picture flashes off and on (backlight problem)
Solution: Replace ICM804 on
power/inverter board, BN44-00167C
Sanyo TV, DS31590
Reason For Service:  Dead, fuse blown
(lightning?)
Solution:  Replace the following parts: Q601,
Q604, Q605, D612 and the 4A fuse
Sony TV, KF42WE610
Reason for Service: 
Lamp enclosure gets too hot
Solution: The sirocco fan
above the housing was clogged; clean it out.
Toshiba TV, 37AV502U
Reason for Service: Dead
Solution:  Found two 150V zeners in the power supply bad.

Reason for Service: Loss of brightness
Solution: Replaced IC-006.
Hitachi TV, 
65XWX20B
Reason for Service: 
No video, audio or osd.  Turning up screens, you will see some.
Solution:  Check video mute AC protect and H BLK, found Q445
shorted.  Replaced.
JVC TV, AV36850
Reason for Service: Dead
Solution:  Replaced C926, 1000uF/16V.
Mitsubishi TV, WS55909
Reason for Service: Timer light blinks continuously. PS 5V and 3.3V are low.
Solution: Check and replace
C9811 surface mount, located across from the 12V supply on IC9800.
Panasonic TV, PT-47WX53/RP
Reason for Service: No picture but you see retrace lines
Solution: Replaced Q944 and
Q945.
Philips TV, 
50PFP5332D/37
Reason for Service: 
Dead
Solution:  Replaced 3 caps, C601 and 609, both 470uF/25V and C036,
100uF/50V.
Samsung TV, HLR5067W
Reason for Service: 
Vertical stops working, intermittently, good sound
and lamp ok.
Solution: Found SM C9005 in
digital board open. 10uF/10V.
Sharp TV, LC52E77U
Reason for Service: 
Replaced a bad main board, and now a “k” is
flashing on the screen.
Solution: When you turn the
set on and see the k, quickly toggle volume up and channel down together.  You’ll be in the service menu.  Look for Industry Initialization in the menu,
activate it and wait until it finishes. 
Unplug the set then plug it back in and turn it on. The “k” should be
cleared now. 
Sony LCD, 
KDL40V4100
Reason for Service: Picture too dark and color too rich
Solution:  T-Con is bad, but before replacing, try replacing just
the AS15-F chip on it. 
Toshiba TV, 42HP83
Reason for Service: Set would play for a couple of minutes then shut down.
Two blink code.

Solution: One of the fans
had stopped running, replaced with 23125910.
